Will definitely satisfy your sweet tooth craving, and is so creamy! Is best eaten right after it’s done!
Ingredients
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 4 large egg yolks
- 3 tbsp granulated white sugar(for the custard)
- 1 cup heavy cream (3/4 cup whole milk, 1/4 cup unsalted butter for substitute)
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3 tbsp brown or white sugar(for the crunchy top layer)
- 1/4 tsp salt
Steps
- Pour heavy cream, whole milk, salt, and vanilla extract into a saucepan(pot) and gently boil over medium heat. Immediately remove from heat and let it set for 30 minutes. This is your vanilla milk.
- Preheat your oven to 320 degrees Fahrenheit and set 4 ramekins into a deeper bake pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine egg yolks, and 3 tablespoons of sugar using wooden spoon or whisk. Slowly pour your vanilla milk into the bowl while continuously whisking the yolks so they don’t scramble.
- Divide the custard base into the 4 ramekins, and pour hot water halfway up the ramekins that are in the deep baking pan. Bake for 30-40 minutes until firm on
- Remove ramekins from the oven and put in the fridge for 4 hours
- Just before eating, cover the top with a layer of white sugar and torch until golden brown.
- Enjoy!!!
